If it feels like there are about 1,712 potential app integrations for HubSpot, that’s because there are. HubSpot's incredible versatility and customisation can also quickly become overwhelming when working out the most efficient tech stack for your business needs.
In part one of this blog series, we’re breaking down our favourite operational HubSpot connectors with pros, cons, and points for consideration from our team, which has put them to the test. But before we dive in, a bit of background on the scope of these HubSpot-friendly add-ons.
The HubSpot Ecosystem is “a network of opportunities for your business growth,” which houses a Template Marketplace of website themes, a Solutions Directory of approved HubSpot partner agencies and—what we’re covering here—the App Marketplace of third-party tools that can be connected with HubSpot. Essentially, these compatible resources empower HubSpot users with customisable solutions for their business needs under one integrated roof.
On the operational or productivity side of things, there are a few reasons why a third-party app might be integrated. Firstly, a team already uses a particular platform and is comfortable with its associated processes and workflows. Integrating established tools into a HubSpot workspace is invaluable in creating an efficient, user-friendly tech stack (and no change management required). Secondly, there’s an operational gap that needs to be bridged, which is when this blog becomes particularly handy. There are 233 productivity connectors in the App Marketplace, so we’re here to narrow it down.
This connector does the heavy project management lifting and seamlessly integrates with HubSpot for synced workflows and dreamy automation.
Projectworks is a cloud-based project management platform with future-focussed features to help keep projects, budgets, and profits on track. The platform is built specifically for professional and creative services companies so they can streamline operations and save time to focus on important work. The core functionalities include resourcing, forecasting, invoicing, timesheets, leave, expenses, project management, budget burn and reporting, resulting in better visibility and efficiency. Projectworks integrates with HubSpot to provide a single automated view of opportunities and deals in HubSpot all the way through to signed companies and new projects in Projectworks. Plus, Projectworks integrates with our favourite financial tool, Xero, to create a unified workflow between sales, fulfilment and accounting teams.
The Projectworks connector is available to all HubSpot plans. However, only users with a Professional or Enterprise tier subscription will have the added bonus of using HubSpot workflows to further enhance the integration.

Less time spent on invoicing and financials just makes cents.
Xero is best-in-class accounting software that handles invoicing, expenses, payroll, accounts payable, and pretty much everything finance-related. This integration “simplifies the creation of companies, contacts, products, and invoices/quotes directly from HubSpot deals”, meaning admin tasks are minimised, errors are reduced, and the sales and accounting teams are unified.
In addition to empowering the sales team with a streamlined quote-generation process, Xero provides transparency around the customers’ financial activity directly from the "Companies" section in HubSpot. Get up-to-date financial information at a glance.

Every organisation has their preferred video conferencing platform, and Microsoft Teams is ours. With remote meetings now the norm—and not going anywhere anytime soon—it’s crucial to have virtual communication software that works for internal teams and clients.
Teams likely needs no introduction, but among the chat functionality, virtual phone call capabilities and numerous other features, we use the video meeting rooms most extensively. The record feature and automated transcripts save us heaps of time communicating with internal stakeholders (who doesn’t love one less meeting?), and the Hubspot integration makes setting up client calls straight from our CRM a breeze.
The latest release for this Teams Hubspot integration is a webinar event plug-in, which could be very effective in lead-generation campaigns to capitalise on attendees. “After connecting HubSpot and Microsoft Teams, you can sync webinar registration and attendance details from Microsoft Teams webinars to HubSpot marketing events. Use this information to segment your contacts in HubSpot.” No data entry is required; contacts are automatically added to the CRM for the sales cycle to continue.

The communications lifeline among marketing teams worldwide, Aamplify included.
Again, almost everyone is familiar with this communication platform, which allows teams to connect within shared workspaces and channels. However, Slack can do much more than messaging, particularly when integrated with HubSpot.
Some neat features this integration offers include the ability to turn a Slack message into a HubSpot task or note and the opportunity to associate a deal with a Slack channel for further discussion, which keeps things beautifully organised and tidy. Go one step further and use shortcuts to create and search for HubSpot records within Slack and share them with internal stakeholders without jumping apps. Like all automations, set-up is required to achieve optimal functionality, but saving time on repetitive tasks while improving communication workflows warrants the investment.
